7 Marines injured in Sulu blast
Seven members of the Philippine Marines were injured in a roadside blast in Sulu on Thursday morning, the military said.
An improvised explosive device went off and hit a convoy of the Marine Battalion Landing Team-10 in Barangay (village) Lagtoh in Talipao at 6:50 a.m., Western Mindanao Command spokesperson Major Filemon Tan said.
The Abu Sayyaf Group was suspected to be behind the said bombing incident.
The wounded Marines were immediately brought to the Trauma Hospital in Jolo and then airlifted later to Zamboanga City.
The Philippine Navy said early this week that it is deploying freshly retrained Marines from MBLT-1 to Sulu and pull out the MBLT-2 for retraining. RAM
