If not her, then who does Senator Grace Poe think is the next “best president?”
This was one of a few questions that Poe chose not to answer during the Meet the Inquirer Forum in Makati City on Thursday.
“Huwag ko na lang sagutin yan kasi parang endorsement na ‘yan,” she said in between laughs.
“Baka mamaya kung sino man ang banggitin ko e tumulong pa para maalis na lang ako. Pasensya na…” said the senator, who has been slapped with multiple disqualification cases because of her citizenship and residency.
The Senate Electoral Tribunal already junked a quo warranto petition, seeking to unseat Poe as senator over her citizenship while the Commission on Elections cancelled her certificate of candidacy for president in the May 2016 elections not only because of citizenship issue but also her alleged failure to comply with the 10-year residency period requirement of the law.
Both decisions have been elevated to the Supreme Court, which has now started its oral arguments.
Aside from Poe, other leading contenders in the 2016 presidential race are Vice President Jejomar Binay, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, and Senator Miriam Santiago.
