Enrile lays down 8 issues vs Aquino at new Mamasapano probe

Aside from “actively” and “directly” participating in the Mamasapano incident, President Benigno Aquino III also allegedly “deliberately hid and was hiding” behind his friend, and then suspended Police Chief Alan Purisima, “to shield himself from any responsibility and accountability for the debacle,” Senate Minority Leader Juan Ponce Enrile said on Wednesday.

This was among the eight issues that Enrile laid down against the president immediately after the Senate reopened its investigation on the incident that left 44 Special Action Force (SAF) men dead last January 25, 2015.

The eight issues were the following:

That President Aquino “actively and directly participated” in the planning and preparation of Oplan Exodus
That President Aquino deliberately compartmented Oplan Exodus to himself and Deputy Director General (DDG) Purisima
That President Aquino was the approving authority of Oplan Exodus
That during the execution of Oplan Exodus, President Aquino was fully aware of what was going on
That President Aquino wantonly disregarded the command systems of the PNP (Philippine National Police) and the AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines)
That President Aquino was actually intentionally and directly dealing with the person who before and at that time of the Mamasapano gruesome massacre was not an active part of the command system of either the AFP and the PNP
That President did not make any effective decision or issue any effective order or do any effective action as President of the Republic of the Philippines to prevent the barbaric slaying and slaughter of the PNP-SAF troopers
And finally, that to hid himself from any responsibility and accountability for the Mamasapano debacle, President Aquino deliberately hid or was hiding behind DDG Purisima

It was Enrile, who initiated the reopening of the investigation by the Senate committees on peace and order; peace, unification, and reconciliation; and finance.

The senator was in hospital detention over plunder charges when the Senate conducted its hearings on the incident last year. RAM
