If indeed she used her US passport after she renounced her US citizenship, then Senator Grace Poe said she would have long been disqualified from the May 2016 presidential race.

“Hindi po linawin natin ito. Hindi po nangyari yan kahit na papano sapagkat makikita din mismo sa aking passport lahat ng mga nakatatak dyan,” Poe said when asked about it on Monday over DZBB.
(Let’s clarify this. That didn’t happen because you’ll see in my passport the necessary stamps.)
“Syempre gusto nilang magkaroon ng kalituhan ang ating mga kababayan. Sa tingin ba ninyo kung totoo yan e hindi ako hinila sa pwesto ko sa MTRCB noon pa man? Ang dami pa namang nakatutok din dyan dahil nagiging issue din yan sa government officials noon,” she said.
(Of course they want to confuse the public. If that was true why didn’t they remove me from my post at the MTRCB then? There were already a lot of people following such issues pertaining to government officials at that time.)
Poe was chair of the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) before she became senator in 2013.

She said she already presented in court all documents that would show that she did not use her US passport after renouncing her US citizenship.
The senator has a pending appeal at the Supreme Court, seeking to reverse the decision of the Commission on Elections that cancelled her certificate of candidacy for president in May over her citizenship and residency.
“Kung totoo yan wala na tayong pagdidinig na nangyayari ngayon. Ang saya na nila sa kabila, natanggal na talaga ako,” Poe further said.
(If that was true then we wouldn’t even be having hearings now. The other camp would already be celebrating because I would have been disqualified already.)
