Former Iglesia ni Cristo minister Lowell Menorca II was released from detention Friday afternoon after he posted bail on the two libel cases filed against him.
Menorca posted a cash bond of P20,000 at the Ermita police station. He was released past 3 p.m.
He was arrested Wednesday morning on his way to a Court of Appeals hearing after a libel case was filed against him in Lanao del Norte. After the tension-filled arrest, which saw him resist the attempt of police officers wearing civilian clothes, another libel case was filed against him, this time in Marawi City.

Hours before his release, another libel case was filed against Menorca in Cavite.
