3 hurt in Iloilo City fire

ILOILO CITY—Three persons were hurt during a fire that razed eight houses and damaged five others in a densely populated village here past 4 a.m. on Wednesday.

Fire of still unknown origin started from the house of the Febrero family and spread to their neighbors in Barangay (village) Legaspi-Dela Rama.

The fire department said three persons were hurt when they climbed the barb wire.

Herminilda Mercuclio, 59, suffered abrasion in her arms and legs while Belinada Palo, 51, had a cut on the left leg. A boy identified only as Marvin suffered punctured wounds on his left hand.

Another resident, Mayo Bretana, 63, was given treatment after his blood pressure shot up.

The affected families were temporarily housed at the covered basketball court of the barangay. RAM
