GETAFE, Bohol—A suspected big-time drug dealer and gun-for-hire leader was gunned down in a shootout with police during an operation on Saturday morning.
Elly Job Cabahug, popularly known as “Tatay,” was killed in the shootout in a resort in the island-barangay (village) of Jagoliao, said Superintendent Dennis Agustin, director of the Bohol Provincial Police Office.
Cabahug drew a handgun when he sensed the law enforcers were going to arrest him. He died from gunshot wounds in the head.
Recovered from the scene were Cabahug’s .45 caliber pistol, 2 KG9 submachine gun, a hand grenade, sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and drug paraphernalia and deposit slip receipts.
Agustin said the suspect was a leader of gun-for-hire operating in Bohol and nearby provinces.
“He traded drugs and guns from Cebu to Getafe and nearby towns. He was a tough drug dealer and a pain in the neck of Getafe residents. He harassed and threatened tourists and local residents as well,” said Agustin. RAM
