BATANGAS CITY—Four detainees escaped from the Lipa City police station lock-up cell Wednesday morning, police said.
Superintendent Barnard Danie Dasugo, Lipa City police chief, said the duty desk officer discovered that the four detainees were missing at about 2:10 a.m.
Dasugo identified the escapees as Rommel Endaya and Marvin Inciong, both accused of robbery; and Jonathan Jimenez and Alvin Masupil, both facing separate illegal drug charges.
Initial investigation revealed that the prisoners escaped by passing through the ceiling of the lock-up cell, Dasugo said.
