COMMUNITY Development Day is observed every Jan. 6 by virtue of Proclamation No. 341 signed on Dec. 24, 1964, by then President Diosdado Macapagal. The Presidential Assistant on Community Development, a predecessor of the Department of the Interior and Local Government, was tasked to take charge of all activities marking the occasion.
