President Benigno Aquino III has appointed lawyer Adrian Cristobal Jr. as ad interim secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry, Malacañang said on Tuesday.
Cristobal, who was appointed DTI undersecretary in August 2010, will replace former secretary Gregory Domingo.
“I am pleased to transmit herewith your appointment letter, signed by His Excellency, President Benigno S. Aquino III, as ad interim SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY, effective on 31 December 2015,” Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa said in Cristobal’s appointment letter.
Cristobal obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from the University of California and Juris Doctor of Laws at the Ateneo de Manila University.
Domingo resigned as DTI chief in September.
