A weather expert on Wednesday night warned residents in central Luzon to expect “Lando-like” floods due to weather disturbance affecting the Philippines.
Various areas in central Luzon were submerged in floods as typhoon Lando dumped heavy rains when it pummeled Region III in October.

“Pampanga River water level (La Fuente Sta Rosa St.) is now at 8.81 meters. Expect Lando-like floods in Central Luzon,” said Mahar Lagmay, executive director of Project Noah on Wednesday. Noah stands for Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards, a project of the Department of Science and Technology that uses advanced technology in giving at least six-hour lead-time warning “to vulnerable communities against impending floods.”
In a Twitter post, Lagmay posted an image of of the rainfall amount in the country due to typhoon “Nona,” which was now downgraded to a severe tropical storm.
Heavy rains in the country were also triggered by the entry of typhoon “Onyok,” which entered the Philippine are of responsibility on Wednesday afternoon.
