At least 3 dead, 1 missing in ‘Nona’-hit Romblon
SAN PEDRO CITY-At least three people were killed while one went missing at the height of typhoon “Nona” (international name: Melor) in the province of Romblon, the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) said.
But even as the weather improved Wednesday, reports of typhoon damages from other parts of the province have yet to come in, according to PDRRMC chair Antonio Sarzona.
As of Wednesday noon, the island-municipalities of Banton, Corcuera, and Sibale remained cut off from the province’s capital – Romblon, Romblon – due to typhoon-damaged communication lines.

A woman was reported missing in Cajidiocan town at the height of the strong rains.
A report from the regional DRRMC said 1,927 persons (481 families) were evacuated in Romblon, but Sarzona said residents have begun returning to their homes by Wednesday.
