The Supreme Court will hold a special session on Dec. 16 to decide on urgent election matters and the constitutionality of the Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (Edca) between the Philippines and the US.
A source said the high court justices have decided to hold another session to tackle the “No Bio, No Boto” case which was subject of a restraining order last Dec. 1.

The restraining order issued by the high court stopped the mandatory biometrics voter registration scheme.
Petitioner Kabataan Party-list, in its petition, said the “No Bio, No Boto” policy will disenfranchise about 2.5-million voters without digital photograph, signature and fingerprints in their registration records.
On the other hand, the high court will also tackle the petitions seeking to declare Edca as unconstitutional.

The high court was supposed to rule on the Edca last month but opted to reset its deliberations to this month.
Also, the high court may tackle the petition filed by Rizalito David questioning the decision of the Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) dismissing the disqualification case against Senator Grace Poe. IDL
