Malacañang came back swinging at presidential aspirant and Vice President Jejomar Binay who said that the government under the administration of President Benigno Aquino III is underspending because it allegedly plans to use public funds for Liberal Party’s campaign kitty.
In a statement on Wednesday, Presidential Spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said that the government’s policy of underspending is already old news.
He even said that Binay is lashing out against the administration after it failed to get the backing of Aquino.

“Huli sa balita si VP Binay tungkol sa underspending. Ganyan talaga pag hindi inindorso, ang dating pinupuri, pinupuna,” Lacierda said.

The Palace spokesperson took a swipe against Binay and the corruption allegations he is facing using his campaign slogan.
“What is certain is that si VP Binay, gumanda ang buhay niya dahil hanggang ngayon, hindi niya maipaliwang ang alegasyon ng korapsyon laban sa kanya,” Lacierda added.
(What is certain is that VP Binay’s life improved because until now, he could not explain the allegations of corruption against him.)
Aquino has annointed former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II as his successor.
Binay resigned from the Cabinet last June and has since become the administration’s vocal critic. RAM
