CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – Former mayor Vicente Emano’s Padayon Pilipino party continues to back Vice President Jejomar Binay in his presidential bid.

Misamis Oriental Gov. Yevgeny Vincente Emano, Emano’s son, said the party’s ties with the United Nationalist Alliance have not been dampened by the entry into the presidential race of Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte.

The elder Emano, who is running for Cagayan de Oro City mayor against reelectionist Mayor Oscar Moreno and Representative Rufus Rodriguez, was not just politically-allied with Binay.

“They are close friends,” the governor said.

In October, Binay picked the city as venue when he launched the regional UNA chapter in Misamis Oriental.
