ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines—Authorities on Friday said the Abu Sayyaf could have set off Thursday’s explosion outside an elementary school in Jolo, which killed four people and wounded eight others.
Chief Superintendent Bienvenido Latag, police director in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said investigators considered this angle based on the type of bomb used.
He said three suspects have already been identified.
