Poe on disqualification cases: ‘DQ pa more’

“DQ pa more,” Senator Grace Poe said on Wednesday amid left and right disqualification cases filed against her at the Commission on Elections.

Poe noted that her citizenship was not an issue when all her rivals were inviting her to become their vice president.

“Pero ngayon na ako’y tumakbo na, na kasangga nila, ay parang biglang nagiging issue ito,” she told reporters in an interview in Parañaque City.

In particular, she questioned her rival’s claim, former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas, that he was not aware about the citizenship issue against the senator when he invited her to be his running mate.

“Para namang napaka-imposible naman na hindi niya alam e noon pa man ay pinag-uuspaan noong nagkikita kami tungkol dito,” she said.

“Pero ‘di bale; sapagkat laban ito, DQ pa more. Kung ‘yun na lang ang kinakailangan para mapansin at para mawala sa issue, siguro, nila…  pero mali po yun,” Poe added.

She pointed out that as early as June last year, the United Nationalist Alliance already raised the residency and citizenship issues against her while she and Roxas started talking about a possible alliance last week of August or early September this year.

While the issue on her citizenship was not raised when she was meeting with President Benigno Aquino III, Poe said she learned from some people that the President got worried that issue would be used against her later on by her rivals.
