Poe to Roxas: Is LP behind Rizalito David?
IS the Liberal Party (LP) of Interior Secretary Mar Roxas in 2016 behind the disqualification case against Senator Grace Poe?
Poe herself raised this matter when she met with Roxas Sunday night , where she was formally offered to be his running mate in 2016.
“Maraming tsismis kung sino ang nasa likod niya…pero hindi nga ako nagba-black propaganda tulad ng iba…dahil para sa akin sino ba ang mabebenipisyuhan ’pag ako natanggal dito? Pero mas lalo nilang ginagawa ’yan, ’pag umatras ang isang tao e di sasabihin nila duwag kaya nga ayaw kong atrasan ito,” she told reporters when asked if she had any information as to who could be handling the losing senatorial bet Rizalito David.
(There are many rumors as to who was behind him… Unlike others though, I don’t use black propaganda because for me, who will benefit from it if I would be removed here? But they are bent on doing it, and if you back out they’d say you’re a coward, that’s why I’m not backing out.)
It was David who filed two separate cases against Poe at the Senate Electoral Tribunal and the Commission on Elections over her being a foundling or stateless.
Asked if she raised the matter to Roxas since there were talk that the LP was behind David, Poe answered yes.
“Sinabi ko sa kanya, alam n’yo Secretary ’pag nag-uusap tayo diretsahan tayo ’pag nag-uusap pero may mga tao kayo na talagang titnitira ako sa likod. Alam ko yun ’pagkat nakakarating sa amin…”
(I told him, you know Secretary, we’re frank with each other when we talk but you have people who really attack me behind my back. I know because that’s the information we get.)
“Handa naman kami sa legalidad dito pero hangga’t sinusuyo ako pero kabaligtaran naman ang ginagawa ng iba, ano ba naman yun?”
(We are ready with the legality but while you are courting me, the others are doing the opposite of it.)
But Poe said Roxas denied that the LP was behind David.
“Ang sabi nya ang pagkakaalam nya hindi galing sa kampo nya pero di ba may mga sinasabi na mapakla daw ako dahil hindi pa nga ako hinog, galing naman yan sa kampo nila. Kasi ang manibalang may halong tamis at asim,” she said.
And did she get any commitment from Roxas that he would stop his men from attacking her? Poe said: “Well sabi nya, hindi nga raw n’ya papayagan ang ganun kasi ’yun nga ang kabilin bilinan ng Pangulo na kami magkasama dito sa layunin para sa ating mga kababayan na huwag magsiraan, itaas ang level ng diskurso.”
(Well, he said he won’t allow that to happen because the President’s reminder to us is that we should be working together for the good of our countrymen; that we should not throw accusations at each other, and to raise the level of discourse.)
