Prominent businessman in Baguio stabbed dead
BAGUIO CITY—A member of a prominent business family in this city was found dead in his house here Tuesday morning, police said.
Henry Tan Lao, 68, whose family owns a chain of department stores and groceries, a hotel and a liquefied petroleum gas refilling station in this city and nearby La Trinidad, Benguet, died from several stab wounds, said Supt. Cherry Fajardo, spokesperson of the Cordillera police office.
Fajardo said it is possible that Lao may have been attacked on Monday night at his house.
Lao’s body was found at 10:30 a.m. by SP01 Jackson Pabillo, the first law enforcer at the crime scene, police said.
Investigators cited testimonies from neighbors who said they saw a man leave Lao’s house after they heard noises there at 11 p.m. Monday. RAM
