Did you know: 83rd birth anniversary of Ninoy Aquino

TODAY, Nov. 27, is the 83rd birth anniversary of the late Sen. Benigno Aquino Jr. Born in 1932, Aquino served as senator from 1967 to 1972.

A respected journalist, government leader and freedom fighter, he was assassinated on Aug. 21, 1983, at the Manila International Airport.

By virtue of Republic Act 6639 signed on Nov. 27, 1987, the airport was renamed Ninoy Aquino International Airport in his honor. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
