Mar Roxas stands by Korina Sanchez despite criticisms

Not voting for Liberal Party standard bearer Mar Roxas because of his wife Korina Sanchez?

Roxas couldn’t care less.

“I am saddened to hear that, but Korina’s my wife and I love her very much and she’s with me and I’m with her,” he said when asked, “Is it fair for people to say they will not vote for you because of Korina?”

The former senator and interior secretary is the first presidential aspirant to be featured in a Meet Inquirer Multimedia forum.

Asked what Sanchez’s role will be if she becomes first lady, Roxas said, “She’ll be my wife. I don’t expect her to go back to her profession.”

“She’s given up her profession. I expect that her charity work, her foundation work that she started, her Tsinelas Foundation, which she will continue,” he said of the broadcaster.

Sanchez is among the prominent broadcasters of ABS-CBN. She has resigned from primetime newscast “TV Patrol,” but remains to host her weekly magazine show “Rated K.”

She has faced several controversies in her line of work, including her virtual word war with CNN broadcaster Anderson Cooper during the aftermath of Supertyphoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan).
