Poe thanks Aquino for ‘support’ amid disqualification cases

Senator Grace Poe thanked President Benigno Aquino III on Tuesday for saying that it should be the people who should decide if she should run for president.

“I thank the president for his confidence in the ability of the people to discern what is best for them,” Poe said in a statement.

“I have always known him as a staunch advocate of democracy and trust in the will of the people,” she further said.

Aquino was earlier quoted as saying that since sovereignty resides in the people, then the people should be allowed to decide whether they want Poe to run for president or not.
