Round-the-clock prosecutors at Naia for Apec

The Department of Justice’s National Prosecution Service (NPS) is on a 24-hour duty at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia) to ensure immediate action in case of complaints during the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) Summit.
Under Office Order 1796 signed by Prosecutor General Claro Arellano, a prosecutor has been on duty beginning 12 midnight of Nov. 17. Each prosecutor will have an eight-hour duty.
First batch of prosecutors on duty are Assistant State Prosecutors Xerxes Garcia, Philip Dela Cruz, Gerard Gaerlan.
Then, the next batch will be Prosecuting Attorney Herbert Abugan, Assistant State Prosecutors Clarisa Kuong and Romeo Senson.
On Nov. 19, duty prosecutors are Assistant State Prosecutors Michael Vito Cruz, Prosecuting Attorney Ma. Richelle Oliva and Assistant State Prosecutor Hjarmar Quintana. Then, on Nov. 20, duty prosecutors are Assistant State Prosecutors Alexander Suarez, Florencio Dela Cruz and Brian Jacinto Cacha.
Arellano warned the prosecutors that they will face disciplinary sanction if they failed to do their mandate.
He said the prosecutors have been instructed to coordinate with the Department of Transportation and Communication or the Inter-Agency Council Against Trafficking to provide them temporary office. TVJ
