More than four months after the unified ticketing system was launched, one million “beep cards” have been sold to commuters of the three elevated railways in Metro Manila, the private concessionaire AF Payments Inc. said on Thursday.

“We are delighted that rail commuters in Metro Manila have taken so readily to the new beep card. Today, beep cards are already used to pay for more than 50% of all rail transactions on LRT 1, LRT 2 and MRT-3,” AF Payments CEO Peter Maher said in a statement.
