Transport officials led by Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya returned to the Senate on Monday as it resumed its hearing on the problems plaguing Metro Manila’s railway system.
Aside from Abaya and other officials of Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC), the Senate subcommittee on public services also invited other officials of the Metro Rail Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), Metro Pacific Investment Corp., and the Center for Commuters.
The committee’s last hearing on the issue was in February this year.
Presidential bet Senator Grace Poe, who chairs the subcommittee, initially set the next hearing last November 4 but Abaya was not available.
