Senatorial bet Manila Vice Mayor Isko Moreno wooed Senate employees on Monday and asked them to reserve a seat for him in the chamber.

Moreno attended for the second time the Senate’s regular flag raising where he expressed his desire to be part of its regular ceremony if he gets elected in the Senate next year. He said he first attended the flag-raising ceremony three years ago.

The Manila vice mayor is running under the “Partido Galing at Puso” of Senators Grace Poe and Francis “Chiz” Escudero and has been adopted as a guest candidate of Senators Miriam Defensor-Santiago and Ferdinand “Bongbog” Marcos Jr.

“Nahihiya po ako, parang I don’t want to assume what’s going to happen in 2016 but of course if you’ll ask me, I’ll be very excited to be part of every Monday’s flag ceremony. May awa ang Diyos but yan ay mga bagay na siguro mga 189 days or 180 days para malaman natin…” Moreno said in his speech.

The 41- year-old then asked the Senate employees to give him an opportunity to serve them someday.

Moreno, who grew up among Manila’s poor, promised to face all the challenges that would come his way and to work hard so as not to embarrass the people who would vote for him.

Ordinaryong nanay, ordinaryog tatay. Wala po akong middle initial na Zobel, wala po akong middle initial na Ayala…pero kayo na po ang humusga,” he further said.

Some employees could not help express their admiration to the senatorial bet when they approached him for a picture after the ceremony.

“Ang gwapo mo, Sir,” a female employee exclaimed.

“Iboboto ko kayo, Sir. Diyos ko, gustong-gusto ko kayo kahit hindi ako taga-Maynila,” another employee said.

“Bawal daw ang kiss,” said a male employee, who also took a line to get a photo with the vice mayor.
