SENATOR Grace Poe named at least three persons who are advising her on certain issues to prepare her should she get elected president next year.
While some people think that she only listens to her running mate, Senator Francis “Chiz’ Escudero, Poe said there are also academicians and businessmen who would be mentoring her.
Among them, she said, are former NEDA Director General Cielito Habito, and economist Romeo Bernardo. She said she also talked once with Washington Sycip, founder of accounting firm SGV & Co.

“Ako’y nagpapasalamat pagkat may mga academicians , mga miyembro ng business na nandyan si Secretary Ciel Habito na tumutulong…hindi ko sinasabing mga exclusibo to sa akin na kahit sinong kandidato siguro tutulungan nila dahil para sa bayan ito,” she said in an interview over DZMM on Wednesday.
“Nadyan si Romy Bernanrdo ng UP at saka marami, ang iba sa business sector na sa tingin ko ngayon ay medyo nag-aalinlangang magpakilala. Pero masasabi ko lang ito ay may magagandang reputation…” she further said.
Poe said she only talked once to Sycip, who told her that his first client was her grandfather, Fernando Poe Sr. The lady lawmaker is the adopted daughter of the late actor Fernando Poe Jr. and veteran actress, Susan Roces.
While the 2016 presidential election is still months away, Senator Poe said she already has the names of people who will compose her Cabinet should she get elected president.
She declined to name names but said her Cabinet would be composed not only by her allies but even from the opposition or current members of the Aquino Cabinet.
“ (The) best and brightest pero ang importante, may integridad at kakayahan so pag kinuha natin sila papipirmahan natin sila ng papel. Ano yang iyong deliverables at kapag hindi mo nagawa ito, kusa ka nang mag re-resign. Huwag na tayong mag usap…” said Poe.
