Lyceum vs CSB today

/ 07:07 AM October 10, 2011

WITH NOTHING at stake but pride, Lyceum of the Philippines and College of St. Benilde will try to end their campaign with a flourish in an interesting clash today in the 87th NCAA basketball tournament at the Arena in San Juan.

The Pirates and the Blazers tote similar 6-11 (win-loss) cards, although the Pirates got the better of the Taft-based squad, 75-63, the first time they met in the first round.

That win was actually part of a three-game winning surge by the Pirates, who immediately got the attention of the rest of the field. A win today will give Lyceum its seventh victory.

Win or lose, though, the Pirates have already overachieved this season, surprising everyone with their competitiveness even against established teams in the league.
