DAVAO CITY—A moderately strong quake shook several Southern Mindanao areas on Tuesday, with Intensity IV being the strongest, which was recorded in Sarangani province.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the 10:32 a.m. quake was traced in Don Marcelino, Davao Occidental and had a recorded magnitude of 4.9 at a depth of 64 kilometers.
It was also felt at varying intensities in Davao del Sur and South Cotabato: Intensity IV was felt in Malungon, Sarangani; Intensity III in Davao City, Digos City, Padada, Davao del Sur, Alabel, Sarangani and General Santos City; and Intensity II in Tupi, South Cotabato.
Phivolcs said it was not expecting any damage or aftershocks from the quake. AJH/RAM
