The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) has confirmed the reported senatorial ticket of Vice President Jejomar Binay.
In a statement on Monday, UNA president Toby Tiangco said Binay’s candidates for senator are united in their support of the vice president’s program of governance should he win as president in 2016.
Tiangco said Binay’s senator candidates under UNA are boxing champion and Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, sacked Special Action Force Director Getulio Napeñas, Parañaque councilor and actress Alma Moreno, Sulu Sultanate Princess Jacel Kiram, veteran broadcaster Rey Langit, and labor lawyer Allan Montaño.
Guest candidates under UNA are OFW rights advocate Susan “Toots” Ople (youngest daughter of the late senator and Foreign Affairs secretary Blas Ople), reelectionist Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, former senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson, Richard “Dick” Gordon and Juan Miguel “Migz” Zubiri, and Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez.
“We are proud to say all UNA senatoriables are committed to pursue worthy priorities in the legislature. They share the same vision with Vice President Binay of a pro-poor and reform-oriented legislative agenda that would advance a responsible and transparent governance, create more job opportunities for the Filipino workforce; address our kababayan’s need for responsive health, education, and other social services, uphold the rights and welfare of women and children, persons with disabilities and OFWs; improve peace and order, fasttrack the delivery of government services, be energy-independent by 2020 and attract more investments,” Tiangco said.
