Roxas: Even blind, deaf could tell ‘Daang Matuwid’ delivered

Liberal Party presidential bet and former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II continues to extol the supposed gains by the administration of President Benigno Aquino III through its “Daang Matuwid” campaign, which he vows to continue should he become the country’s next president.
During the thanksgiving celebration of the Tarlac First Baptist Church in Tarlac City on Sunday, Roxas said that he will continue the Aquino government’s crusade of honest and good governance.
“Hindi po natin sinasabi na perpekto na ang lahat pero palagay ko naman na kahit ang bulag, kahit ang bingi ay makakapagsabi na malayo na ang narating namin at marami na ang napagtagumpayan natin nitong nakaraang limang taon na ito,” Roxas said.
He said Aquino made the Philippines better through adhering to the three pillars of the “Daang Matuwid” form of governance: the government treating Filipinos as its “bosses”; the Filipinos who made Daang Matuwid possible; and the campaign of “walang corrupt, walang mahirap.”
“Gagawin natin ang lahat na magpapatuloy po tayo sa pagtahak sa matuwid, sa matapat, at sa may malasakit na pag-aaruga sa ating mga kababayan at sa ating bansa,” he added.

Roxas was with his running mate Camarines Sur representative Leni Robredo in the event.
On her part, Robredo thanked the church for being a partner of the government in taking care of the people.
She also highlighted the importance of talking to all stakeholders in the community in crafting government policies, just like how his late husband Jesse Robredo did.
“Naniniwala po kaming mag-asawa na sa pakikinig sa lahat, sa pagkonsulta sa lahat ng sektor ng lipunan naming malalaman ang tunay na pangangailangan ng ating mga kababayan,” Robredo said.
