The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has warned motorists of possible heavy traffic at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) on Saturday, saying it would feel like the “road to forever.”
MMDA issued the advisory ahead of GMA-7’s big event at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on Saturday.
“Expect [NLEx] to feel like the road to forever. Plan your trips accordingly,” the MMDA said in its Twitter account.
The MMDA advised motorists to plan their trips if they are going north this weekend to avoid getting stuck in gridlock.
The heavy traffic is expected as noontime show “Eat Bulaga” will hold a grand celebration dubbed “Sa Tamang Panahon,” an event which would showcase the popular “AlDub”tandem of actor Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza, better known as “Yaya Dub.”
The event has sold out tickets for the 55,000-seater arena at the Ciudad de Victoria in Bulacan.
MMDA officer in charge Emerson Carlos has earlier said that thousands of people are expected to attend the event using their private vehicles.
Carlos said the MMDA is willing to extend deployment of men at the Philippine Arena but the Bulacan police has not yet reached out to them to ask for assistance.
During previous events at the Philippine Arena, heavy traffic was experienced in the area and along NLEx. CDG
