Long-time foes Leonardia, Puentevella to run for Bacolod mayor

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines — It will be a battle royale in Bacolod City in the 2016 elections when two long-time political foes will compete for the  mayoral seat.

Rep. Evelio Leonardia of the Nationalist People’s Coalition will face Mayor Monico Puentevella  of Magbinuligay Kita sa Kauswagan Partido Bacolod (MKK).

Puentevella and his team filed their certificate of candidacy (CoC) on Thursday morning and Leonardia’s team, in the afternoon.

Both attended separate Masses at the San Sebastián Cathedral before heading to the Comelec office.  SFM
