Scrumptious Cebu lechon bad for Binay’s dentures

CEBU CITY, Philippines—The famous Cebu lechon proved too tough for Vice President Jejomar Binay who had to make an emergency stop at the dentist here when his lower dentures fell victim to the delicacy.

Binay said his dentures loosened after he bit into a piece of lechon skin.

The Vice President had just sat down to lunch at Cebu Coliseum after presiding over the Visayas launch of his party, the United Nationalist Alliance. Lechon was one of the Cebu specialities that was served.

“I enjoyed the lechon,” Binay said.

He apologized to the media accompanying him on the trip for the delay that his visit to Vicente Sotto Medical Center had caused.
