Tropical storm “Kabayan” has intensified as it exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), the state weather bureau said Saturday morning.
The moderate to heavy estimated rainfall amount will be experienced within its 300 kilometer diameter, Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Service Administration (Pagasa) said in its final bulletin on the weather disturbance issued at 4 a.m.
The tropical storm’s eye, estimated based on all available data, was located at 425 km West of Vigan City, Ilocos Sur.
Its strength has a maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 120 kph.
Kabayan is expected to move to west northwest at 20 kph and positioned 1025 km West of Calayan Island, Cagayan Sunday morning and 1585 km West of Itbayat, Batanes Monday morning, both outside the PAR.
All public storm warning signals have been lifted but Pagasa warned that sea travel is risky over the western seaboard of Northern and Central Luzon. RAM
