Winds bring down power lines in Pampanga

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Fallen electrical posts have rendered the San Luis-Baler Road in Aurora province impassable and caused power outages in the area on Friday, a report from the Central Luzon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council here said.

The fallen posts caused blackouts in several towns, the Regional DRRMC said.

In Pampanga, Governor Lilia Pineda cancelled classes in public and private preschool, elementary and high school levels due to heavy rains brought about by tropical storm “Kabayan.”

In Bulacan, classes were suspended in public and private elementary and high school levels in the City of Malolos and Hagonoy town. Classes in the elementary level in Calumpit and Plaridel towns were also suspended. Tonette Orejas, Inquirer Central Luzon/CDG
