LP overwhelmed by bets wishing to join ticket – Guingona
SENATORIAL hopefuls who want to join the Liberal Party slate will undergo screening.
Senator Teofisto “TG” Guingona III, one of the four individuals nominated to the LP’s senatorial ticket, said the LP is having difficulty in accommodating aspirants into the party’s senatorial slate.
“Maraming gustong pumasok. Dahil marami, hindi mo ma-accommodate lahat so kailangang timbangin kung sino ang karapat-dapat pumasok,” said Guingona after the LP’s closed-door meeting with President Benigno Aquino III and its standard-bearer Mar Roxas Wednesday morning.
Those who already secured slots in the LP’s senatorial line-up are resigned presidential adviser for food security Francis Pangilinan, Senate President Franklin Drilon, Senate President Pro-Tempore Ralph Recto.
Candidates who will fill the eight remaining slots will be handpicked by Roxas after the party gave him the authority to complete the slate, including the vice presidential candidate.
