Estrada endorses Colmenares

Former president and incumbent Manila Mayor Joseph Estrada endorsed on Wednesday the senatorial bid of Bayan Muna Representative Neri Colmenares.

Estrada, in a speech before the jam-packed crowd at the San Andres Sports Complex in Manila, said Colmenares was the first candidate that he endorsed for the Senate in 2016.


“Congressman Neri is the first candidate I endorse for the Senate because I believe in him and his visions for our country,” the mayor said.

“Ang mga katulad ni Congressman Neri ang kailangan natin sa Senado,” said Estrada.


(People like Congressman Neri are the ones we need in the Senate.)

Estrada said he believes that Colmenares could do more when he gets elected to the Senate.

“Hindi po ako binayaran dito… (I wasn’t paid to do this)” the mayor said in jest. JE
