Binay to work ‘doubly hard’ after Pulse Asia rating slip

The camp of Vice President Jejomar Binay on Monday said that he will work “doubly hard” to regain his lead in preference surveys.
Binay’s spokesperson for political affairs Atty. Rico Quicho said that the vice president is unfazed by his third place ranking in the newest Pulse Asia “Ulat ng Bayan” survey.

“The Vice President will continue to talk directly with the people and work doubly hard to inform them of his track record of helping the poor and programs to bring more employment, quality education, accessible healthcare and reduction of poverty,” Quicho said in a statement.
He said that the 16 percent obtained by Binay in the survey shows that he still holds a sizable core of supporters.
He added that during the survey period of Sept. 8 to 14, Binay did not air any political advertisements.
“The Vice President is satisfied with the Pulse Asia results considering that he did not have any television advertisement running during the survey period. It showed us that we have a stable core of supporters,” Quicho said.

According to the results of the Pulse Asia poll, Binay is only third in the list of preferred presidential bets, getting only the support of 19 percent of respondents. He is trailing behind survey leader Senator Grace Poe, who got 26 percent, and administration bet former Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas II, who got 20 percent.
Binay is closely followed by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte who got 16 percent.
The survey had 2,400 respondents with a ± 2% error margin and 95 percent confidence level. JE
