Grace Poe to Muslims: ‘I am one with you in prayer’

Senator Grace Poe joined Friday’s commemoration of Eid al-Adha as she prayed for improved relationships, and peace and prosperity, especially for “brethren in Mindanao who have suffered much.”

Poe took the social media to join the world in celebrating Eid al-Adha, which was declared a regular holiday in the Philippines.
“Eid Mubarak to our Muslim brothers and sisters! I am one with you in prayer to improve relationships, cast away hatred and prejudice and share peace and prosperity with those who have less in life, especially our brethren in Mindanao who have suffered much,” the senator wrote on her Facebook and Twitter accounts.
Senator Loren Legarda, author of the law that declares Eid al-Adha a national holiday, also urged everyone, regardless of religion, to join the commemoration.
“I join our Muslim brethren in celebrating Eidul Adha. Regardless of our religion, we should be one with our Muslim brothers and sisters in commemorating this important Islamic Festival so we can develop interfaith harmony,” Legarda said in a statement Thursday.
“We can be inspired by this Muslim Feast of Sacrifice, which honors Prophet Abraham’s obedience to God and highlights the values of humility and selflessness.”
