A so-called shaman (medicine man) was arrested yesterday shortly after the Udon Thani Provincial Court approved arrest warrants for two shamans who allegedly stole a skull from a graveyard for amulet-making.

“Their crime has emotionally devastated the victim’s family,” Udon Thani Police Station superintendent Pol Colonel Wit Muttasin said.

Suspect Narong Phumphuchit was arrested, while Arthit Kongkarian, 35, is still at large. Both are Udon Thani province natives. Their accused accomplice, Bang-orn Srinanam, was arrested on September 15.
She has provided useful information to police and is being treated as a state witness. “They had planned to sell the amulets to foreigners,” Wit said.
