Fire hits officers’ quarters in Villamor Air Base

A FIRE of unknown origin hit an officers’ quarters at Villamor Air Base in Pasay City on Thursday.

The blaze happened at 11:30 a.m. at the officers’ quarters of retired Maj. Gen. Edwin Remotigue, deputy chief for training, said Air Force spokesperson Col. Enrico Canaya.

Firetrucks stationed inside Villamor as well as those from Pasay City government responded to the fire scene. No one was reportedly hurt and the fire was immediately put under control.

Canaya said the cause of the fire still could not be determined and an investigation is ongoing.

Remotigue only retired this month and is still in the process of vacating the unit, Canaya said. Frances Mangosing
