Man shot dead inside garage of home

MANILA, Philippines—A sales supervisor who had just returned home from bringing his children to school was shot dead by two unidentified assailants while inside his sports utility vehicle in Cubao, Quezon City Friday morning.

Albert Man, 38, reportedly an employee of Magnavision, had just parked his Mitsubishi Adventure in his garage and was still in the driver’s seat when he was attacked at his residence on 9th Ave. in Barangay Socorro at around 8 a.m.

Inspector Elmer Monsalve, homicide section chief of the Quezon City Police District, said Man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed by his neighbors to Quirino Memorial Medical Center, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Case investigator Senior Police Officer 1 Jaime Jimena, said the victim’s family and friends had no idea who or why anyone would want to kill the victim.

A maid of the family told police that two men onboard a white motorcycle approached the SUV just as she was about to close the gate of the garage behind her employer, who had had just arrived after taking his sons to school.

Without any warning, one of the men shot Man several times with a hand gun, which investigators determined was a 9 mm pistol based on the spent shells found at the crime scene.

The maid said the assailants escaped onboard the motorcycle toward the direction of Ali Mall but she was unable to make out its license plate.
