Thunderstorm hits parts of Metro Manila, nearby provinces

The state weather bureau on Friday afternoon issued a thunderstorm advisory over parts of Metro Manila and nearby provinces.

In an advisory isuued 3:58 p.m., the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said a thunderstorm is affecting Valenzuela, North Caloocan and Quezon City.

Pagasa said a thunderstorm is also affecting the towns of San Jose del Monte, Sta. Maria and Meycauayan in Bulacan, Botolan in Zambales, portions of Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Quezon, Nueva Ecija, Cavite and Tarlac.

The weather bureau said heavy rains may persist for the next two hours.
