The Senate Electoral Tribunal (SET) on Friday will start the proceedings on the disqualification case filed against Senator Grace Poe.
Public Information Chief Theodore Te said as per instructions of Senior Associate Justice Antonio T. Carpio, chair of SET, the preliminary conference on the case is set on Friday, Sept. 11.
Under Rule 50 of Republic Act No. 6 or the Revised Rules of the Senate Electoral Tribunal, reception of evidence from both parties will be conducted during the preliminary conference.
Te said the preliminary conference will be closed to the public.
Soon after, on Sept. 21, Te said the SET will hold the oral argument at the Supreme Court’s en banc session hall.
Te said it will be open to the public, “subject to limitations of seating, and will be for coverage subject to the same guidelines observed during Supreme Court Oral Argument. The proceedings will also be audio livestreamed by the SC PIO.” JE
