SUBIC, Zambales—Residents here on Wednesday afternoon found the body of a 5-year-old girl who was reported missing on Monday when a flash flood swept away a house beside a creek in the village of Mangan-vaca.

Police said the body of R-Gien Quintero was discovered underneath a boat berthed in the nearby village of Calapandayan after floodwater receded at 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Quintero’s body, police said, was decomposing and immediately buried by her relatives.

On Monday morning, the victim’s siblings—an 8-month-old baby and a 3-year old girl—drowned following the flash flood triggered by heavy rain dumped by Typhoon “Ineng” in the province, police said. Allan Macatuno/RC
