Typhoon ‘Ineng’ stationary, affects Batanes, Cagayan

ineng 11pm fridayTyphoon “Ineng” (Goni) will remain stationary until Saturday morning, affecting Batanes and Cagayan provinces, the weather bureau said Friday night.

In its 11 pm bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the eye of “Ineng” was located east of Calayan island in Cagayan province.

The typhoon has maximum sustained winds of 170 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 205 kph, Pagasa said. The estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 600 km diameter of the typhoon.

It is forecast to remain stationary for the next 12 hours.
