A predawn fire hit a seafood restaurant in Binondo, Manila, trapping at least 11 persons inside a hotel beside the burning establishment on Thursday.

But firefighters were able to immediately rescue the victims inside Peace Hotel as fire engulfed Golden Fortune Seafood Restaurant on the corner of Soler and Gandara streets. No one was reported injured in the incident.

A Radyo Inquirer 990 AM report said that at 4:30 a.m., fire broke out at the restaurant, which was on the first floor of the same building with Peace Hotel.

Fire was raised to fourth alarm at 4:57 a.m.

Because of thick smoke, 11 persons were trapped in the hotel.

About an hour later, Bureau of Fire Protection personnel rescued the victims, including a three-year-old child.

The Manila Fire Bureau said the blaze was eventually put out at 6:16 a.m. Julliane Love de Jesus, Ruel Perez/IDL
