The “AlDub” craze has infected no less than Interior Secretary Manuel “Mar” Roxas.

Roxas said on Monday that a possible pair up between him and Senator Grace Poe in the 2016 elections dubbed “Mar-Poe” would be like the “AlDub” television fame.

The “Mar-Poe” hashtag? #MayTamangPanahon echoing the AlDub hashtag “satamangpanahon.”

“Well ‘yung tandem na ‘yan parang si AlDub lang yan eh. Hashtag “May Tamang Panahon,” (Our tandem would be like that of AlDub) said Roxas, referring to the TV romance between actor Alden Richards and Internet sensation “Yaya Dub.”

The so-called split-screen love affair of Alden Richards and Yaya Dub—whose real name is Nicomaine Dei “Maine” Mendoza—has been followed by millions since its inception on the noon-time variety show “Eat Bulaga.”

“Mangyayari at mangyayari din ‘yan sa tama ng panahon,” (It will happen at the right time) continued Roxas when asked about the probability of having a “Mar-Poe” team up in the national elections.

The standard-bearer of the ruling Liberal Party confirmed meeting with Poe recently but declined to provide details. With Roxas and Poe in the meeting was the senator’s husband, Teodoro “Neil” Llamanzares.

Aside from Poe, the LP is also eyeing Camarines Norte Representative Leni Robredo as Roxas’ vice president should it fail to convince Poe to run with its presidential bet. In earlier interviews, Poe said she’s keen on running with Senator Francis “Chiz” Escudero should she decide to run for president. Julliane Love de Jesus
