CUSTOMERS of Maynilad Water Services Inc. in 13 areas in Metro Manila and Cavite province will experience supply interruptions from Aug. 10-13 and Aug. 17-18.
The company said rotating service cutoffs will affect portions of the cities of Caloocan, Manila, Pasay, Makati, Parañaque, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas; as well as Cavite City, Bacoor City, Imus City, and the towns of Kawit, Rosario, and Noveleta in Cavite.
Taps are expected to run dry for 12 to 41 hours in affected households: from 1 p.m. of Aug. 10 to 10 p.m. of Aug. 13; and from 1 p.m. of Aug. 17 to 3 p.m. of Aug. 18.
The disruption is due to the long-delayed realignment of a Maynilad pipe running in the path of the Department of Public Works and Highways’ interceptor drainage line on Blumentritt Street in Manila.
The flood-control project is designed to direct floodwaters from the northern parts of the metropolis to Manila Bay. Ronnel W. Domingo
